Participates in the department's incident reporting and documentation services to daily operations. Participate in schedule and unscheduled organizational activities related to emergency preparedness and adhere to the various local, state and federal regulations/standards. Participate to ongoing training to job specific activities and requirements dealing with a variety of healthcare issues and standards. Staying abreast to organizational policies and procedures, as well, as company specific. Participate in the daily operations to the overall security program, in the expectation of protecting and safeguarding of people and properties. Participate in schedule and unscheduled organizational activities related to emergency preparedness and adhere to the various local, state and federal regulations/standards. Participate to ongoing training to job specific activities and requirements dealing with a variety of healthcare issues and standards. Staying abreast of all organization and department specific policies & procedures. Participate in day-to-day operations to the overall security program, in the expectation of protecting and safeguarding of patients, visitors, medical staff people and organizational properties and assets. Participate and adhere to all P & P related to JACHO standards, and staying competent in the various requirements of the organization, specifically the Security and Safety Management Programs. Participate in scheduled and unscheduled organizational activities related to various agency standards but not limited to: emergency preparedness, hazardous materials issues, workplace violence, infant abduction, aggressive behavior etc. Adhere to all lawful practices in accordance with the Texas Commission Private Security Agencies. Participate to ongoing training programs related but not limited to Safety and Security activities, requirements dealing with a variety of healthcare issues, guidelines and standards. Establish a working liaison with on site off-duty and on-duty Police Officers and other law enforcement agencies that may effect organization daily operations. Participate in networking with other healthcare related professionals and keep abreast of new security trends for the betterment of the organization and the department. Maintain working knowledge of the various departments of the organization. Establish positive documentation skills and investigative practices. Have a working understanding of computers programs etc. word and excel. Have general knowledge of Security equipment etc. Access Control and CCTV. Be able to operator CCTV, Access Control and recording equipment. Patrol assigned areas including but not limited to the parking Garage and surrounding/remote parking areas. Maintain correct and accurate documentation, in all forms. Conforms to safety standards of the department by using proper safety equipment and maintain equipment provided. Communicates, cooperates and performs related duties with other members of hospital staff in a courteous and efficient manner to achieve overall hospital goals and objectives. Promotes positive customer service with internal and external customers. Answers telephones, responds to general questions, handles complaints or questions from directors, nurse managers, charge nurse, employees or patients and refers calls to appropriate person, takes messages and initiates appropriate paperwork as required. Responsible for maintain department equipment in proper working order and tracking of same. Responsible for properly clocking in and out on daily bases and as directed Participate in Over-Time work as needs and/or when required to meet organizational needs. Participate and attend in required training workshops, classes and other related training session to meet organizational, departmental, individual standards or improvements. Successfully pass all IAHSS course certifications within 1st year of employment. Successfully Pass and maintain CPR Certification. Attend and/or study to successfully pass ISC 100 and 200. Successfully Pass a Defensive Driving Course and maintain a clear driving record with no more them 2-moving violations. Respond to all non-police emergency calls (in general) to include but no limited to the following; Alarm, Fire, Hazardous and Injury. Provide Safety Escorts at any time, day or night, scheduled and unscheduled, to any visitor, employee, medical staff and patient, in a timely manner. Respond to general calls for services as needs and/or directed. Investigate and write reports to all incidents, small or large, in according to established procedures. Provide 2-way communication on any incidents that require appropriate follow-up. Required to drive company vehicles and must have clear driving record. Serves the community through proactive policing including self-initiated activities. Must have a clear Driving Record to participate in the organization's Security Shuttle Program. Maintain and practice Defensive Driving skills thru course of employment Maintain chain of command 2-way communication with superiors Participate and aid the Safety Director in the Environment of Care Program, as needed Adhere to strict uniform guidelines and wear all appropriate uniform gear as provided or requested as part of one's employment. Adhere to the organization's Patient CarePath Program, providing positive communication skills among patient, visitors, employees and physicians. Performs additional duties and functions as required and/or assigned.
