Extended Job Title Temporary Worker-ELPN Connector Specialist Requisition ID xxxxBR Work Location Lubbock Org Level 1 Texas Tech University Campus Texas Tech University Department EDUC Administration General Position Description A job involving an appointment for less than four and one-half months which are of a non-recurring nature. Major/Essential Functions Coordinates activities and strategies with school personnel to effectively transition Dunbar school students to Estacado high school guidelines. Utilization of resources from other work units is required to perform the job's functions. The GTM Specialist works directly with students, parents and staff to implement the timely, targeted, directive and systematic GTM school-wide interventions (ORM, AEC, ReTeaching, SELP, SQIP) and intensive interventions (Rising Stars, Shooting Stars etc). Daily responsibilities may include answer phones, typing documents or reports (excel, Word etc), sorting and distributing intervention folders, creating and distributing call slips, checking homework, calling parents, meeting with students etc. Assist in planning, supervising and implementing the daily program in accordance with GTM goals and objectives and ELPN policies and procedures. The GTM specialist works directly with students, parents and staff ensuring that GTM program guidelines and procedures are consistently followed in a timely and systematic way. Should posses intricate knowledge of the various GTM interventions including but not limited to ORM, AEC, Reteaching, SELP, SQIP, Rising Stars, Shooting Stars, Shinning Stars, Math/Reading All Stars etc. Must be prepared to enforce GTM rules and procedures and assign progressive discipline in a fair and equitable way. Hold high expectations for all students and at all times and in all ways encourage students to embrace the Attitude of a Winner Philosophy (work hard, dream big, believe in themselves and never give up). Guide and motivate students for academic success and promote a college bound culture. Consistently document all phone calls and interventions in order to track student attendance, behavior and academic progress. Work with students K-12, work with families and community organizations from various backgrounds. Collaborate with all grant personnel, campus administrators, parents and the community at large. Required Qualifications Due to the broad nature of work found in this job, minimum qualifications for a particular job will be determined by the hiring manager. The qualifications will be commensurate with level and nature of work to be performed. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or the equivalent with some college and a commitment to continue higher education in a social sciences/humanities or related field; an associate to bachelor degree is preferred. Ability to organize and use time effectively. Keep accurate records. Communicate effectively orally and in writing. Serve as a model to the community. Work flexible hours.
